Exosome and stem-cell skin treatments in Korea: what is actually injected, and what to ask

These treatments use products made from cells, such as exosomes or conditioned media, often alongside microneedling or injection. They are newer than PDRN or hyaluronic acid, so the most useful step is knowing exactly which product goes into your skin. Seoul price: $355–$1,135.

START WITH THE CONCERN

Which one is for what you actually want?

Most people arrive with a product name from social media. The doctors we work with start from the concern instead, and sometimes the answer is a different treatment, or none.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Real patients, with the clinic named

Photographs for this treatment are being added. Each will name the clinic, how long after treatment it was taken, and whether lighting matched.

RECOVERY AND YOUR FLIGHT

What the days after look like

  1. Day 0–1

Redness, and small bumps or dots depending on how it was delivered.

  2. Day 2–3

Redness settles. Gentle skincare and sunscreen.

  3. Week 2–4

Judge how your skin feels over these weeks rather than on day one.

HONESTLY

When we would tell you not to book it

  • The clinic cannot tell you the product name, what it is made from, or where it is manufactured.
  • You are told it is proven to reverse ageing or cure a condition.
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or being treated for cancer or an autoimmune condition. Talk to your own doctor first.
  • A large price premium is justified only by the word 'stem cell'.

HOW WE CHOOSE YOUR CLINIC

We vet the clinics first.
Then we match you to the doctor.

Seoul has hundreds of clinics selling Exosome and stem-cell skin treatments. We work with a short list that meets five conditions, and introduce you to the one or two doctors who fit your concern, your dates and your budget.

  1. 01

The consulting doctor is the treating doctor

We ask every clinic who actually holds the needle. A clinic that hands you to someone else after the consultation does not make our list.

  2. 02

Product, device and dose are named

“Premium booster” is not an answer. We only work with clinics that tell you the brand, the volume and the machine before you sit in the chair.

  3. 03

A written quote, per unit or per cc

So you can compare two clinics on the same scope rather than two totals that measure different things.

  4. 04

A doctor willing to say “not this”

We listen for it in consultations we sit in on. A clinic that agrees to everything is selling, not advising.

  5. 05

Someone to contact after you fly home

A named contact and channel for follow-up questions, agreed before treatment rather than discovered after.

HOW IT WORKS

From your brief to the consultation room

  1. 01

    Your brief

Your concern, what you want to keep, your dates and your budget. No photo required.

  2. 02

    Two or three doctors

From clinics we have already vetted, chosen for your concern and your timeline, not whoever pays most.

  3. 03

    Written quotes, side by side

Same scope, per unit or per cc, with anything not included listed.

  4. 04

    With you on the day

An interpreter in the consultation room, and the option to walk away.

  5. 05

    After you fly home

We stay the contact for practical questions. Medical follow-up stays with your doctor.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK

Exosome and stem-cell skin treatments: the short answers

How much are exosome treatments in Korea?

An exosome 5cc session is about $355 in Seoul. Stem-cell product injections run about $495 for 3cc and $850–$1,135 for 6–9cc.

What exactly is being injected?

Ask directly. Products sold under these names can be cultured cells, conditioned media (the fluid cells were grown in), or isolated exosomes. They are different things, with different regulation. Ask for the product name and manufacturer in writing.

Is there good evidence it works?

It is a newer category with less published research than PDRN or hyaluronic acid. Some clinics report results they are happy with. That may be fine for you, but you should know it going in.

Is it legal in my country?

Rules differ from country to country, and some products used in Korea are not approved elsewhere. That matters if you want follow-up treatment at home.
