BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
What to do before and after, by treatment.
General guidance. Your clinic’s written instructions come first, and your coordinator sends them to you in your language.
Botox, fillers and skin boosters
Applies to: Wrinkle botox · Jaw (masseter) botox · Skin botox (micro-botox) · Dermal fillers by brand · Rejuran · Juvelook (skin) · PDRN and water-shine boosters
Before
- Tell the doctor about blood thinners, supplements such as fish oil, and any allergies, including fish for PDRN products.
- Avoid alcohol the day before if you bruise easily.
- Come without make-up if you can.
After
- Do not press or massage the treated area unless the doctor tells you to.
- Skip saunas, hot baths and hard exercise for about two days.
- Make-up is usually fine the next day.
- Botox takes days to work. Judge it at one to two weeks.
Contact the clinic now if
- After filler: skin turning white, grey or dusky, or pain that gets worse rather than better. Call the clinic immediately.
- Any change in vision after a face injection is an emergency: go to an emergency department straight away.
- Spreading redness, heat or fever.
Lasers, toning and spot removal
Applies to: Pico toning · Spot and mole removal · Pico Fraxel · Potenza · Redness and broken capillaries · Tattoo removal
Before
- Avoid a tan for two weeks before; tanned skin is treated more cautiously.
- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids a few days before, unless told otherwise.
After
- Sunscreen every day for at least a month. This matters more than any cream.
- Keep patches on spot-removal sites until they lift by themselves. Do not pick scabs.
- Gentle cleanser and moisturiser only for a few days.
- A treated spot can darken for a while before it fades. Tell your clinic if it lasts more than a month.
Contact the clinic now if
- Blistering, oozing or signs of infection.
- Pain that increases after the first day.
Lifting devices
Applies to: Ultherapy Prime · Thermage FLX · XERF · Shurink and Linear Z (HIFU) · Sofwave · Onda lifting · Density RF · Volnewmer · InMode (FX and Forma) · Titanium lifting
Before
- Tell the doctor about pacemakers, metal implants, fillers or threads in the area.
- Ask for the shot count and to see the tip opened.
After
- Redness and mild swelling usually settle within hours to a day.
- Tenderness along the jaw for a few days after HIFU is common.
- Judge results at two to three months.
Contact the clinic now if
- Blisters, burns or numbness that does not improve after a week.
Laser hair removal
Applies to: Laser hair removal
Before
- Shave the area the day before. Do not wax or pluck for four weeks before.
- Avoid a tan.
After
- Cool the area if it feels warm. Skip hot baths for a day.
- Hair sheds over one to three weeks; several sessions are needed.
Contact the clinic now if
- Blisters or crusting.
Surgery

Before
- Share your full medical history, medicines and supplements; stop smoking as advised.
- Book your flight after the follow-up visit and stitch removal, not before.
- Ask who operates, who gives anaesthesia, and who you call at night.
After
- Follow the clinic’s written instructions first; this page is general.
- After face surgery, keep your head raised and use cold packs as instructed for the first days.
- After body surgery, wear the compression garment for as long as you are told.
- On a long flight, move, walk the aisle and drink water.
- Swelling settles over weeks to months. Final shape takes time.
Contact the clinic now if
- Fever, increasing pain, bleeding that does not stop, or one side swelling much more than the other.
- After eye surgery: sudden change in vision or severe eye pain.
- Chest pain, shortness of breath or a swollen calf after flying: seek emergency care.
