Ultherapy in Korea: how many shots do you need, and is it the right lift?
Ultherapy Prime is focused ultrasound (HIFU) delivered at set depths down to the SMAS layer, used mainly to lift the jawline and lower face. It suits mild to moderate laxity; it does not remove excess skin. Seoul price: $215–$2,120.

RECOVERY AND YOUR FLIGHT
What the days after look like
- Day 0
Redness and slight swelling for a few hours. You can go out the same evening.
- Day 1–7
The jawline can feel tender to the touch, occasionally a little numb. Usually not visible to others.
- Week 4–12
Lift builds as collagen remodels. Judge it at two to three months, not on day one.
- Month 6–12
Gradual fade. Most people repeat about once a year.
HONESTLY
When we would tell you not to book it
- You have significant excess skin. Ultrasound tightens; it does not remove skin.
- The quote gives a total with no shot count. Ask for the number of shots in writing.
- The clinic cannot say whether it is genuine Ultherapy or another HIFU machine. Both exist, and depth and price differ.
- Your face is already very thin. Some doctors avoid heavy HIFU on low-volume faces; ask whether it could make you look gaunt.
- You are pregnant, or have an open wound or active infection in the area.

How much is Ultherapy in Korea?
Ultherapy Prime runs about $215–$385 per 100 shots in Seoul, about $605–$1,095 for 300 shots, and about $1,215–$2,120 for 600 shots.
How many Ultherapy shots do I need?
It depends on the area and your face. A lower-face plan is often around 300 shots and a full face around 600, but the doctor sets the number after looking at you.
Is Ultherapy painful?
Many people find it uncomfortable, especially over bone along the jaw. Numbing cream is used; ask about other comfort options if you are sensitive.
Can I fly right after Ultherapy?
Usually yes. With no meaningful downtime it fits the last days of a trip; keep treatments that leave marks for the start.
Is Ultherapy the same as HIFU?
Ultherapy is one brand of HIFU, with real-time imaging. Other HIFU devices cost less and work on a similar principle, but depth settings and per-shot energy differ.
Ultherapy or a thread lift?
Ultherapy works gradually with no marks; a thread lift gives a more immediate mechanical lift with a few days of swelling. Your doctor will say which suits the degree of sagging.
