Thread lift in Korea: what threads can lift, how long it lasts, and when to skip it

A thread lift places dissolving threads under the skin to reposition mild-to-moderate sagging along the cheeks and jaw. It sits between device lifting and surgery: more visible lift than a device, more downtime, and it does not remove excess skin. Seoul price: $70–$1,105.

START WITH THE CONCERN

Which one is for what you actually want?

Most people arrive with a product name from social media. The doctors we work with start from the concern instead, and sometimes the answer is a different treatment, or none.

Photographs for this treatment are being added. Each will name the clinic, how long after treatment it was taken, and whether lighting matched.

RECOVERY AND YOUR FLIGHT

What the days after look like

  1. Day 0–2

Swelling, tightness and tenderness. Small dimples or bruises at entry points are common.

  2. Day 3–7

Swelling settles. Avoid wide mouth opening, facial massage and hard chewing as your doctor advises.

  3. Week 2–4

Settled look. Any unevenness that remains should be checked by the doctor.

  4. Month 6–12

Threads dissolve and the lift gradually fades. Duration varies by thread type and person.

HONESTLY

When we would tell you not to book it

  • You fly home in a day or two and need to look untouched.
  • You expect a facelift result. Threads cannot remove skin.
  • Very thin skin with little fat. Threads may show or feel uneven; ask the doctor.
  • The quote lists a total but not the thread type and number.
  • You are pregnant or have an active skin infection in the area.

HOW WE CHOOSE YOUR CLINIC

We vet the clinics first.
Then we match you to the doctor.

Seoul has hundreds of clinics selling Thread lift. We work with a short list that meets five conditions, and introduce you to the one or two doctors who fit your concern, your dates and your budget.

  1. 01

The consulting doctor is the treating doctor

We ask every clinic who actually holds the needle. A clinic that hands you to someone else after the consultation does not make our list.

  2. 02

Product, device and dose are named

“Premium booster” is not an answer. We only work with clinics that tell you the brand, the volume and the machine before you sit in the chair.

  3. 03

A written quote, per unit or per cc

So you can compare two clinics on the same scope rather than two totals that measure different things.

  4. 04

A doctor willing to say “not this”

We listen for it in consultations we sit in on. A clinic that agrees to everything is selling, not advising.

  5. 05

Someone to contact after you fly home

A named contact and channel for follow-up questions, agreed before treatment rather than discovered after.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ACTUALLY ASK

Thread lift: the short answers

How much is a thread lift in Korea?

On recent Seoul price lists, a single PDO thread is about $70 to $145, four PDO threads about $245, Jamber threads about $105 each or $315 for four, and two Silhouette Soft threads about $1,105. Ask how many threads your plan needs.

How long does a thread lift last?

Usually months rather than years, depending on thread type and your skin. Your doctor can give a realistic range.

Thread lift vs Ultherapy: which should I choose?

Ultherapy has almost no downtime and works gradually; threads give a more immediate, visible reposition with a few days of swelling. Some people combine them. The doctor decides by your sagging and schedule.

How many days before my flight should I get it?

Leave at least several days for swelling and bruising to settle, and more if you have photos or events. Confirm timing with your doctor.

Can threads be removed if I do not like the result?

Sometimes, especially early on, but not always easily. Ask the clinic before treatment how they handle unevenness and who you contact after you fly home.
