Bags, hollows and dark circles look alike in photos but have different causes: fat bulging, a groove below it, loose skin or pigment. Surgery helps the first three; pigment-only dark circles usually need something else. Seoul price: $500–$2,430.

What the days after look like
- Day 0–5
Swelling and bruising under the eyes, sometimes into the cheeks. Cold compresses and a raised head help.
- Around day 5–7
Check-up, and stitch removal for skin incisions, commonly in this window.
- Flying home
Commonly about a week after surgery, after the check-up. Lower lid lifts with midface work may need longer. Confirm with your surgeon.
- Month 1–6
Contour keeps settling for months. Small asymmetries early on often even out; judge the result later.

When we would tell you not to book it
- Your dark circles are pigment only, with no bulge. Surgery will not change the colour.
- You want maximum fat removal. Too much can leave a hollow, tired look that is hard to fix.
- You have had lower lid surgery before. That is a revision consultation.
- You cannot stay for a check-up before flying.

Under-eye bags surgery: the short answers
How much is under-eye bags surgery in Korea?
On one surgical price list we use: about $500 for fat removal, $1,285 for fat repositioning, $1,715 for lower blepharoplasty and $2,430 with a midface lift, VAT 10% excluded.
Fat removal or fat repositioning?
If there is a groove under the bag, repositioning moves fat into it instead of removing it, which can avoid a hollow look. If there is only a bulge, removal may be enough. Your surgeon decides after examination.
Is there a visible scar?
Inside-the-lid methods leave no external scar. Skin incisions sit just under the lashes and usually fade over months.
Can a skin booster replace surgery?
Boosters can improve thin, crepey skin and some pigment, but they do not remove bulging fat. Some people combine both.
